PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police are questioning a 19-year-old man in the fatal shooting of his 11-year-old brother.
The boy was shot in the chest around noon at his home in West Philadelphia. He died at a hospital.
Police say his brother went door to door asking neighbors for help. He was taken into custody without incident.
Acting Police Commissioner Christine Coulter says police believe the brother is “responsible” for the shooting. She says investigators are trying to determine whether the shooting was accidental or intentional.
Officers say they found a gun in the house.
The boy was at least the fifth child killed by gunfire in Philadelphia in the last month.
