SEATTLE (AP) - Authorities say a man who was trying to attack his girlfriend with a knife was shot and killed by two Seattle police officers.
KOMO reports that 911 dispatchers received a call Wednesday evening from a woman hiding in her bathroom that her boyfriend had a knife and he was still inside her apartment in the Queen Anne neighborhood.
When police arrived they rushed into the unit. Seattle Police Det. Mark Jamieson said as soon as officers arrived they encountered an adult male who was armed with a knife.
Two officers opened fire and killed him.
Neither the woman nor any officers were injured.
Both Seattle Police and the King County Sheriff’s Office are conducting separate investigations into the shooting.
