PETAL, Miss. (AP) - Police say a man who eluded law enforcement for several days went from Mississippi to Louisiana, was briefly captured there and escaped - and then returned to Mississippi in a cab and did not pay the driver.
The Hattiesburg American reports that Marty Kinsey was arrested Monday night in Petal, Mississippi.
Kinsey is charged with grand larceny, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The newspaper did not report whether he has an attorney.
He’s accused of stealing two cars and breaking into a home in Lamar County. Kinsey was captured in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, but complained of illness after being handcuffed. Authorities say deputies took Kinsey to a hospital in Covington, Louisiana, where he escaped.
Police say Kinsey caught a cab to Petal, Mississippi, about 100 miles (161 kilometers) from Covington.
