James Bond fans can expect actor Daniel Craig’s final outing as the iconic British spy to include plenty of feminist-approved moments if script doctor Phoebe Waller-Bridge has her way.

The woman who played an activist droid in “Solo: A Star Wars Story” spoke with the entertainment website Deadline this week about her role polishing the script for “Bond 25.” She vowed the property will “evolve” and “grow” in a way that “treats the women properly.”

“There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not [the Bond franchise] is relevant now because of who he is and the way he treats women,” she said for an interview published Friday. “I think that’s bollocks. I think he’s absolutely relevant now. It has just got to grow. It has just got to evolve, and the important thing is that the film treats the women properly. He doesn’t have to. He needs to be true to this character.”

The Cary Fukunaga-directed film, which was recently delayed when Mr. Craig injured his ankle while filming in Jamaica, is scheduled for an April 2020 release.
