WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) - A special agent in the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Command has died after collapsing during a run at West Point.
The Army reports Friday that 51-year-old Chief Warrant Officer 3 Liquat A. Khan was discovered on a road during a physical fitness test Tuesday morning at the U.S. Military Academy. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Khan had been special agent in charge of the Criminal Investigation Command’s West Point office since June. The Army says the death is under investigation but foul play isn’t suspected.
Officials said Khan joined the Army after 9/11. He was a special agent for more than 15 years and served two combat tours.
A private memorial service and interment is scheduled at West Point Monday with full military honors.
