GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A solid majority of teachers and staff in a Wyoming school district say they support allowing employees to carry concealed guns for security purposes.

The Gillette News-Record reports 58 percent of 533 employees polled by the Campbell County school district say they support arming district employees.

Twenty-one percent are opposed and 20 percent say they need more information.

Superintendent Kirby Eisenhauer says many teachers and staff submitted written comments on the proposal. District officials also plan to seek comments from the public.

If approved, the proposal would make Campbell County the third school district in Wyoming, after schools in Cody and Evanston, to approve arming teachers and staff.
