PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Attorney General Peter Neronha has reversed a decision by his predecessor and removed redactions from documents related to how the state is spending $50 million forfeited by Google.

Former Republican state Rep. Patricia Morgan filed a public records request for the documents. Former Attorney General Peter Kilmartin’s office gave her redacted documents.

Morgan appealed when Neronha took office in January. Neronha’s office reviewed the records and removed many redactions. Spokeswoman Kristy dosReis says they provided the documents to Morgan’s lawyer Tuesday and are refunding expenses charged to Morgan.

Morgan said Wednesday she’s cautiously optimistic she can track the spending now.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island helped with the case.

Google forfeited the money after an investigation into its distribution of ads for illegal prescription drug sales.
