CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire’s Supreme Court has upheld a negligent homicide conviction for a woman whose grandmother died days after being found in her own urine and feces on the floor of her mobile home.
Authorities said 75-year-old Nancy Parker, of Exeter, fell and remained on the floor for five days in 2016 before her daughter and granddaughter called for help. Parker died three days after firefighters brought her to a hospital.
The granddaughter, 34-year-old Meritel Saintil, also was convicted of failure to report adult abuse. She was acquitted of criminal neglect. She was sentenced to two to four years in prison.
Saintil argued the evidence was insufficient for her convictions. The court disagreed in an order Tuesday.
The court earlier this year upheld a negligent homicide conviction for her mother, Katherine Saintil-Brown.
