Actor Robert De Niro took a sidebar Sunday to slam President Trump during his speech at the American Icon Awards, calling for his impeachment and imprisonment.

“You didn’t think you were gonna get away without a ’f—- Trump’ moment, did you?” Mr. De Niro said to cheers and laughs from the crowd.

Mr. De Niro first praised the night’s honorees, including fellow actor Al Pacino and composer Quincy Jones, whom he said had “earned our respect.”

“On the other hand, the individual who currently purports to lead America is not worthy of any tribute,” he said. “Unless you think of his impeachment and imprisonment as a sort of tribute. Now that’s how you can make America great again.”

An outspoken critic of the president, Mr. De Niro famously blasted Mr. Trump during the 2018 Tony Awards.

“I’m going to say this — f—- Trump! It’s no longer ’Down with Trump,’ it’s f—- Trump,” he said.
