HBO and the NFL have yet to announce this year’s focus for their documentary series, “Hard Knocks.”

Oddsmakers, however, have pegged the Washington Redskins as the favorites to be the subject of the show — with BetOnline.AG giving the franchise 5-4 odds.

The Redskins are one of five teams who can be forced to participate since they don’t qualify for any of the NFL’s exemptions. Teams who have a first-year coach, have appeared in a playoff game the last two seasons or have been the subject of “Hard Knocks” in the past 10 years are exempt from the show, though they can always volunteer to be on it.

Teams, though, are typically resistant to the idea of going on “Hard Knocks,” given the behind-the-scenes aspect of the show. Former Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan told NBC 4 in 2016 that owner Dan Snyder and president Bruce Allen would “never” sign up for the series.

Besides the Redskins, the New York Giants, Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers are among the teams eligible for “Hard Knocks.”
