BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU Eunice has a new person in charge.
LSU President F. King Alexander, in a news release Wednesday, announced the selection of Nancee Sorenson as the school’s next chancellor.
She is expected to assume the post June 17.
The board conducted a national search for the post after Kimberly Russell resigned to take a position at Texas Woman’s University in 2018. She had served as chancellor for three years.
Sorenson is currently president at Hillsborough Community College’s Brandon campus in Tampa, Florida. During her higher education career, she has also worked as an adjunct faculty member, director of admissions and acting vice chancellor for enrollment services and external relations.
LSU Eunice has about 3,200 students and 230 faculty and staff.
