2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Kamala Harris said Wednesday that Joe Biden would make a “great running mate” to her once she wins the Democratic Party’s nomination.

Speaking to reporters while campaigning in New Hampshire, Mr. Harris addressed rumors that she would run as vice president along Mr. Biden, who is the current frontrunner in the crowded 2020 Democratic primary.

“If people want to speculate about running mates, I encourage that, because I think that Joe Biden would be a great running mate,” Ms. Harris said.

“As vice president, he’s proven that he knows how to do the job,” the senator said. “And there are certainly a lot of other candidates that would make, for me, a very viable and interesting vice president.”

Ms. Harris is currently trailing the former vice president by roughly 32 percentage points, taking fourth place behind Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, according to the Real Clear Politics national average.
