President Trump will welcome Poland’s president, Andrzej Duda, to the White House on June 12 to discuss global strategy and mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of communism in Eastern Europe.
Mr. Duda’s wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, will accompany him.
“The visit will reaffirm the longstanding historical and cultural ties between the United States and Poland, particularly in light of the 80th anniversary of the start of World War II later this year,” Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said. “President Trump and President Duda will discuss the growing United States–Poland strategic partnership and a range of mutual interests, including defense, security, energy, and trade matters.”
The leaders will also mark the 20th anniversary of Poland’s membership in NATO.
Mr. Duda’s visit continues a series of White House visits by leaders from Central and Eastern Europe.
So far this year, Mr. Trump has welcomed presidents and prime ministers from Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
