Montana Gov. Steve Bullock, a potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, is set to make a “big announcement,” according to a video published over the weekend.

“Coming soon,” read words in the video, which was published on Mr. Bullock’s social media accounts. “The only Democratic contender who won a Trump state will make a big announcement.”

The video includes news clips of people describing Mr. Bullock as a two-term governor in a state Mr. Trump won in 2016, “a Democrat that wins in rural, red America” who supports abortion rights, gay marriage and Medicaid expansion.

Mr. Bullock also released a video on Sunday of his children crafting a “pros and cons” list.

Mr. Bullock, who was first elected in 2012 and then re-elected in 2016 even as Mr. Trump carried the state by about 20 points, also chairs the National Governors Association.

He would join a crowded Democratic presidential field that already features about two dozen major candidates.

Mr. Bullock is slated to be in Iowa Thursday. He is set to appear at a meet-and-greet at a brewery in Des Moines.
