TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Pima County authorities say two suspects wanted in connection with a homicide have been arrested in Tucson.

They say 41-year-old Shane Martin and 29-year-old Marietta Hope Keeter were taken into custody Wednesday.

County sheriff’s officials say Martin and Keeter have been booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Sheriff’s deputies did a welfare check at a home last Friday night and discovered the body of 73-year-old Julia Rankin.

Authorities say the woman was Martin’s mother and her body had obvious signs of trauma.

Homicide detectives identified Martin and Keeter as suspects.

The two were believed to be on their way to Carroll County, Arkansas area where they were last known to be living.

But sheriff’s officials say the pair was located on East Benson Highway in Tucson and arrested.
