CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia officials say a contractual dispute has caused a shutdown of sports betting at the Mardi Gras and Wheeling Island casinos.
State Lottery Director John Myers says the disruption is “completely a contractual thing between the company and their vendor,” and that the shutdown “wasn’t anything regulatory.” He says lottery officials are working with Delaware North management to restore sports betting.
The Charleston Gazette-Mail reports (https://bit.ly/2TD41hF ) Delaware North issued a statement Friday saying it had temporarily shut down wagering at the casinos’ sportbooks and on the online BetLucky app. Delaware North says it was informed by its sports wagering platform provider in West Virginia that it had encountered a contractual dispute with a third-party technology supplier.
Myers says Delaware North has set up hotline numbers for players with questions about the shutdown. The numbers are: 866-797-5306 for Mardi Gras and 866-807-4007 for Wheeling Island.
