Two top House Republicans on Friday became the latest GOP lawmakers to question House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s interactions with Michael Cohen ahead of his public testimony last month.

Reps. Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows said in a letter to Cohen attorney Michael Monico requesting more information on whether Mr. Schiff, California Democrat, “coached” Cohen prior to his appearance before the House Oversight Committee.

During the hearing, Cohen, who was President Trump’s former attorney, said he talked with Mr. Schiff and his staff about topics that would be raised during the Oversight Committee hearing.

Mr. Schiff has said their discussions were focused on Cohen’s closed-door appearance before the House Intelligence Committee.

Mr. Jordan and Mr. Meadows said more information is needed about the top Democrat’s interactions with Cohen.

“These conflicting statements cannot both be true - either they discussed hearing ’topics’ or they did not” they wrote in the letter.

“If Chairman Schiff’s communications with Cohen were, in fact, as limited as Chairman Schiff stated on Face the Nation, then we are faced with the potential that Cohen made another false statement during his testimony before the Committee,” the letter continued.
