BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (AP) - The family of a Massachusetts man who died after he was found bleeding and unconscious outside of an American Legion post says they are seeking answers for his death.

Kathy McCallum says her husband Christopher McCallum was trying to break up a fight when he was hit in the head and fell backward, fracturing his skull on the pavement the night of Jan. 26. Five weeks after McCallum’s death, authorities have not made any arrests.

The Quincy Police Department has recused itself from the investigation, citing conflicts of interest.

The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office says they are investigating daily.

Kathy McCallum says a grand jury is investigating and she is hopeful an arrest will be made - but says she fears witnesses to the large fight may be withholding information.
