Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle David Irving has had enough.

The 25-year-old went on Instagram Live to tell his followers he was quitting the NFL — all while smoking a joint.

For context, Irving was facing an indefinite suspension by the league for his third violation of league policy in three years. His first ban came for violating the performance-enhancing substance rules, and the following two concerned substance abuse.

The following video contains NSFW language:

“I don’t think I’m a bad guy for choosing this route,” Irving said. “I stand up for what I believe in. It is bulls—-. I’ll Kaepernick myself before they Kaepernick my a—.”

Irving referred to Colin Kaepernick, who filed a grievance against the NFL for colluding to keep him out of the league in retaliation for kneeling during the national anthem to protest inequality and police brutality.

Before live-streaming the video announcing his NFL retirement, Irving reportedly wrote in an Instagram comment that he’ll believe the league plans to make major concessions in its drug policies when he sees it.

“Well once they do that, give me a call,” he wrote. “[Because] it’s bullsh— how I have Xanax bars and hydros right next to me to take — given to me by the NFL, of course — however we can’t smoke the same weed the staff itself smokes.”

Irving played four seasons in the NFL.
