The Washington Redskins are working on a deal for Denver Broncos quarterback Case Keenum, according to multiple reports.

The Redskins have said they want to add a quarterback to compete with veteran Colt McCoy with starter Alex Smith out for the foreseeable future with a leg injury.

Keenum, 31, spent last season with the Broncos, but Denver is moving on. The Broncos agreed to trade a fourth-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for Joe Flacco last month.

Keenum threw for 3,890 yards, 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 2018. He carries an $18 million base salary for next season.
