Here’s a new poll of interest to civility mavens, right along with lawmakers themselves.

“Talk about the enemy within — voters think it’s Congress,” said a new Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday.

It found that a majority of likely U.S. voters agree with a recent warning from President Trump.

“Right now we have people in Congress who hate our country,” Mr. Trump said during his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference last week.

The poll found that 51 percent of voters agree with the statement. A third disagree with the idea that lawmakers hate America, while 15 percent are undecided.

“It’s sad. It’s very, very sad,” said Mr. Trump, after making his observation about rancor on Capitol Hill.

The survey of 1,000 likely U.S. voters was conducted March 5-6.
