He isn’t a quarterback, but there’s a chance he could help the Washington Redskins’ offense in a hurry.

In his third mock draft of the season, ESPN’s Todd McShay has the Redskins picking Oklahoma wide receiver Marquise Brown.

It’s the second mock in a row where McShay likes the 5-foot-9 receiver for Washington at No. 15.

“Washington will be looking for improvements in multiple areas, but adding a burner would open up this offense,” McShay wrote. “Brown has good hands and can outrun just about anyone.”

Analysis:

Put aside the quarterback dilemma for a minute. Washington needs help at several other positions, particularly receiver. The Redskins ranked near the bottom of the NFL in passing touchdowns (16) and receivers’ yards per catch (10.6), and that includes when Alex Smith was healthy for most of the first 10 games.

Brown is a favorite among Redskins fans calling into radio shows due to his speed and playmaking ability. He missed the scouting combine, though, as he recovered from surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury in his foot.

He’s also a cousin of Antonio Brown, and wouldn’t a young rookie with something to prove be a better acquisition than the veteran with the blond-dyed mustache?
