OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) - A former bus driver for Auburn University has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a student passenger.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports 53-year-old Tony Martin Patillo, of Columbus, Georgia, was convicted by a jury Monday of charges including first-degree rape, sodomy and public lewdness.

Patillo is accused of sexually assaulting the 18-year-old woman during the school’s homecoming weekend in 2017. His co-defendant, James Don Johnson, of Auburn, is accused of helping to perpetuate the assault.

Patillo is set to be sentenced on April 24 and faces up to 10 years in prison. It’s unclear when Johnson will go to trial in the case.
