PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A fast-food chain says some employees have been fired following allegations of an assault on a customer outside a Philadelphia outlet.

Thirty-eight-year-old Bryan Reese told television stations that he went Feb. 24 to pick up friends at the Taco Bell. One friend, Joe Boback, told WCAU-TV that customers were complaining about waiting for food.

Reese said a half-dozen employees jumped over the counter and singled him out for what he called an “unprovoked” attack. Outside, he said, he was knocked to the ground and pummeled. Boback recorded the scene on his cellphone.

Taco Bell said in a statement that it was “shocked and disappointed,” and staff members are being retrained while “all team members involved have been terminated.” The company didn’t say how many were fired. Police are investigating.
