CUMMING, Ga. (AP) - A former Georgia sheriff’s captain found guilty of groping a teenage girl has been sentenced to 10 years on probation.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports 75-year-old Frank Augustus Huggins was found guilty of felony sexual assault by a teacher and misdemeanor sexual battery Tuesday.

The former Forsyth County sheriff’s captain was working as a driving instructor at Lanier Technical College in 2016 when he was accused of repeatedly putting his hand on the inner thigh of a driving student, a 16-year-old girl. The agency has said Huggins was arrested in 2016 after authorities confirmed her accusations using evidence and camera footage from inside of the vehicle.

The newspaper says Huggins served as a sheriff’s captain from 2001 to 2010 and was also a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.
