MORRISVILLE, N.C. (AP) - In a story March 31 about airport construction, The Associated Press, relying on a news release from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, erroneously reported that a runway rehabilitation project starting in April would cost $350 million. Airport officials later corrected their news release, saying the cost figure they originally provided was for another runway construction project starting later.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Construction projects will make parking spaces tougher to find at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Officials say that about one-third of the roughly 3,800 parking spaces at the airport’s Economy 3 lot will be closed beginning Monday for repaving. The airport usually has more than 9,000 spaces in its economy lots.
The airport is also beginning a rehabilitation of its primary runway. The process requires the runway to close 18 hours a day, but officials are trying to do as much of the work as possible during overnight hours.
Airport spokesman Jake Potter said the current work on the runway will cost about $15 million through March 2021, and likely continue beyond that at a similar price tag.
Travelers are urged to build extra time into their arrival during the construction work.
Raleigh-Durham is the second largest airport in North Carolina with nearly 13 million passengers in 2018.
