PRAIRIE GROVE, Ark. (AP) - A northwestern Arkansas man accused in the death of his 2-week-old child has been booked for first-degree murder.

Records at the Washington County Detention Center indicate that 40-year-old Mark Lewis was in custody with bond set at $500,000 Sunday after being booked for first-degree murder in the death of Jessie Kenneth Lewis.

Records indicate that Mark Lewis is scheduled to appear in court Monday for a hearing in the case. The records don’t indicate if he is represented by an attorney who could speak for him.

Authorities say the infant was found dead Thursday inside an apartment in Prairie Grove, about 142 miles (229 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock. Investigators determined that the child had been dead for some time, and there was a possible injury to the baby’s skull.
