NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt University Medical Center has announced plans to buy Wilson County’s only hospital.
According to a news release, subsidiaries of Community Health Systems, Inc. and Vanderbilt have signed an agreement for the sale of Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon and its related businesses. The two-campus facility is licensed for 245 beds.
Vanderbilt says it is committed to hiring substantially all the hospital’s employees who are in good standing. That includes more than 200 physicians and around 600 nurses, administrators and support personnel.
Vanderbilt says patients should experience no interruption in care during the transition.
The sale is subject to regulatory approvals. It is expected to close in the third quarter of 2019. Terms of the transaction will remain confidential.
