YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - Officials say a 15-year-old Yakima girl who was shot earlier this month has died.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports Lillyonna Rose Beaty died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to Yakima city spokesman Randy Beehler.
Lillyonna and her aunt, 31-year-old Danielle Rose, were found shot in a car March 17. Authorities believe the pair was shot somewhere else and that Rose had driven to where they were found.
Rose has been released from the hospital.
Seventeen-year-old Benicio Xavier Lopez has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault in connection with the case. Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney Joe Brusic said his office will file a murder charge for Lillyonna’s death.
It wasn’t immediately known if Xavier Lopez has an attorney.
