Any pipe dreams of the Washington Redskins signing a Super Bowl-winning quarterback this offseason likely can be put to bed.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Sunday that the Jacksonville Jaguars “absolutely” expect to sign former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles once free agency opens March 13.

While still technically an Eagle, Foles will not be re-signed or assigned the franchise tag by Philadelphia. Jacksonville is already starting to hammer out the details of a contract for Foles, another recent report added.

Foles led the Eagles to win Super Bowl LII after Carson Wentz was injured late in the regular season.

Washington might have been interested in Foles, but it is unlikely he would have fit under the salary cap.
