It’s a Freudian slip that’s certain to make neither Phillies fans nor Nationals fans happy.

At his introductory press conference Saturday, Philadelphia’s new prize signing, Bryce Harper, accidentally said he wanted to “bring a title to D.C.,” rather than to the City of Brotherly Love.

He must have realized his mistake, because he immediately followed that up with a reference to Philadelphia’s Broad Street and described his ideal World Series parade… something about a boat?

News broke Thursday after a four-month-long wait that Harper signed a 13-year, $330 million contract with the Phillies that broke the record for the richest deal in the history of the four North American team sports.
