OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt and Chief Operating Officer John Budd are asking for an audit of the finances of the state’s Office of Management and Enterprise Services’ Information Services Division.
The audit request announced Thursday comes less than two weeks after OMES officials said they need $16 million for the division, including $7 million to pay bills that are more than 60 days overdue. The division provides information technology services for more than 110 state agencies, including human services, budgeting and purchasing.
Stitt said there is every reason to believe OMES needs funding, but after two months of “digging into ISD’s finances,” it’s believed an audit of its budgeting, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes will provide a better understanding of cash-flow issues and how to make permanent improvements.
