TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Florida deputy shot and wounded a teen during a domestic violence call.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that the shooting occurred Tuesday night in Tampa. The teen was hospitalized in critical condition.
Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister says Deputy Daniel Estanislau responded to the Jasmine Terrace Apartments following two calls about someone bleeding after an attack. After the deputy arrived, he reported spotting a 17-year-old male who matched the description of the attacker from the calls.
Officials haven’t said what led to the deputy opening fire on the teen.
The races of the deputy and suspect weren’t immediately released.
