HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) - Police in upstate New York have identified the 8-year-old girl who drowned in a hotel pool over the weekend.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says Jamielath Kabba was found unresponsive in the Residence Inn Marriott pool in the Rochester suburb of Henrietta Saturday night. Spectrum News reports the Rochester resident was pulled from the deep end of the hotel’s pool while a person at the scene attempted to perform CPR.

She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Officials from the sheriff’s office say her family and the hotel are cooperating with the investigation. Deputies say charges have not been filed, but officers are working with the local district attorney’s office as part of the investigation.
