NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Authorities say the body of a 67-year-old woman was found in a low tide marsh in New Haven.

Police say a person walking their dog discovered the body in the marsh adjacent to Quinnipiac Avenue near East Grand Avenue on Saturday morning.

Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma on the woman’s body.

The body was taken to the office of the chief medical examiner, which is performing an autopsy. The cause of death was unknown on Saturday.

The woman’s identity wasn’t immediately released.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police.
