OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) - Robert Griffin III has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens, who were looking for a quarterback with his skills to play behind Lamar Jackson.

The agreement, reached Thursday, is pending the passing of his physical.

Griffin wrote on Twitter: “Happy and blessed to be back w/ a great organization and great teammates.”

Griffin returned to the NFL with the Ravens last season following a one-year hiatus. Serving as the backup to Joe Flacco and Jackson, RG3 was inactive for the first nine weeks and ended up seeing limited action in three games.

Like Jackson, the 29-year-old Griffin is at his best when running out of the pocket. After Jackson took over as the starter in November, the Ravens began shaping their offense to accommodate a run-oriented attack guided by an agile quarterback.

Baltimore traded Flacco to Denver earlier this month.

Griffin launched his career with the Redskins in 2012 and played four seasons in Washington. After getting five starts in 2016 with Cleveland, he sat out a year before returning last season.
