ST. LOUIS (AP) - A suspect in an assault and robbery at a St. Louis County laundromat is hospitalized after being shot by an employee of the business.
KMOV-TV reports that the owner of Mally Laundromat received a call from an employee late Tuesday, saying he had just shot a man who was trying to rob him.
The owner says two men entered the business and attacked and pistol-whipped the employee, a man in his 60s. At one point one of the assailants and the employee struggled over a gun. The employee shot one suspect in the stomach. The other suspect ran away with about $200.
The suspect’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
