MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A former security guard at a federal facility in West Virginia has been indicted on charges that he stole and sold firearms and ammunition.

Prosecutors say a federal grand jury indicted 52-year-old Christopher Lee Yates of Martinsburg related to the thefts from a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ facility.

He’s charged with possessing and selling stolen firearms, theft of government property and possession of an unregistered firearm.

Each count carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine upon conviction.

It wasn’t immediately known whether Yates has an attorney.
