INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Weather forecasters say Indiana will start March with lake-effect snow and bitterly cold air.

The National Weather Service says an arctic air mass will move into Indiana late Sunday. In northern Indiana high temperatures will only reach the teens Monday with wind chills as low as minus 10. The low in South Bend on Sunday night into Monday morning is forecast at 7 degrees.

In central Indiana and the Indianapolis area highs Monday and Tuesday will range from 18 to 25 degrees with subzero wind chills at times starting Sunday night.

Snow is expected in Indiana starting Saturday night into Sunday. The weather service says 3 to 4 inches are forecast for Columbus and Shelbyville. Indianapolis could see 2 to 3 inches with lower amounts to the north.
