BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The University of Vermont Medical Center and its technical employees have reached agreement on a contact.

WCAX-TV reports that the agreement was reached on Friday, after seven bargaining sessions.

Negotiations started in December. A potential picket was planned for Thursday if no deal was reached.

The union says tech employees’ base pay will go up to $15 an hour. The hospital says there will also be wage increases and market adjustment over the three years of the contract.

A ratification vote is expected to take place on March 8.

There are about 340 technical professionals at UVMMC, including paramedics, sleep technicians and respiratory therapists.
