That’s one memorable way to go out.

Haloti Ngata, the 35-year-old defensive tackle who spent most of his prolific NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens, announced his retirement from football Monday with a picture of himself atop Mount Kilimanjaro.

Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, is the tallest mountain in Africa.

“Just a man standing on top of the world with a heart full of gratitude,” Ngata wrote. “Thank you Lord for letting me play the game I love for 13 unforgettable years. I’m retiring on top.”

Drafted 12th overall by Baltimore in 2006, Ngata played for the Ravens until 2014 and won a Super Bowl with them. He then finished his career playing three seasons with the Detroit Lions and one with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ngata recorded 519 tackles, 32.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and a touchdown in his career.
