Colin Kaepernick is reportedly interested in joining the Miami Dolphins.

CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reported a source told him Kaepernick is “training hard and ready to play” — a month after settling his collusion case against the NFL.

But that appears unlikely as Miami signed journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick on Sunday to be its starting quarterback for next season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Kaepernick, who was the first player to take a knee during the national anthem to protest racial injustice, has not played since 2016, when he went 1-10 as a starter with the San Francisco 49ers. The 31-year-old threw for 2,241 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions that season.

The Dolphins needed a quarterback after trading starter Ryan Tannehill on Friday to the Tennessee Titans. Miami struck out on landing veteran Teddy Bridgewater and before signing Fitzpatrick, only had Luke Falk and Jake Rudock under contract.”
