Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernard Sanders said Friday that he has no plans to reach out to Hillary Clinton for advice on the 2020 election, saying he and the former secretary of state have “fundamental differences.”

Appearing on ABC’s “The View,” Mr. Sanders, Vermont independent, was asked whether he would be joining the list of fellow 2020 candidates who have solicited advice from Mrs. Clinton.

“I think not,” the senator replied.

“Hillary and I have fundamental differences,” he said without elaborating.

“The View” co-host Meghan McCain asked Mr. Sanders what Mrs. Clinton did wrong during the 2016 election that resulted in her stunning loss to President Trump.

“She didn’t reach out to working-class people the way I think she should have,” Mr. Sanders responded. “There were states where she did not campaign as vigorously as she should have — Wisconsin, Michigan, maybe some other states.”

Mr. Sanders said, however, that he wishes to leave 2016 in the past and take on the “most dangerous president in modern American history.”
