CINCINNATI (AP) - Authorities in Cincinnati say a man has been shot to death and a suspect has been arrested.
Cincinnati police said 39-year-old Shawn Hope was fatally shot in the city’s Lower Price Hill neighborhood just before 3 a.m. Sunday. They said Hope died at the scene.
Police have arrested a 23-year-old suspect in the shooting. Investigators haven’t released any details on what led to the shooting.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Hope was the sixth person killed this month as gun violence has increased throughout the city.
Police Chief Eliot Isaac said in an interview Friday that the city is in “a very violent spike right now.”
He said Memorial Day tends to mark the beginning of more shootings in Cincinnati.
