CNN’s Situation Room got psychologically dark this week when Rep. Jim Himes admitted what his “lizard brain” tells him about President Trump.

The Connecticut Democrat sounded a bit like the “Spider-Man” villain known as “The Lizard” Thursday evening when discussing the White House.

Host Wolf Blitzer broached House Speaker’s Nancy Pelosi’s desire that the president is jailed when the lawmaker pivoted to reptilian parts of his being.

“Look, the lizard brain that I have says I hope bad things happen to this man because he has been so destructive to our republic, to the concept of democracy, to the concept that internationally we are a light unto the nations,” Mr. Himes said, the Washington Free Beacon reported. “So, yes, I have my emotional reactions.”

The Democrat said that his thoughts were not driven by “retribution,” so much as egregious behavior on Mr. Trump’s part, which warrants “a mechanism of accountability.”

“We’re going to elect a different president,” Mr. Himes added. “That, to me, that is how this country redeems itself. Whether one nasty individual, you know, spends his years in jail is a lot less important to me than the redemption of the values that animate this country.”
