Like every major sports team in town, the Washington Nationals wear red. But for one day before the All-Star Break, they plan to bring out some powder blue, instead.

The Nationals will wear Montreal Expos throwback uniforms for the first time on July 6 when they host the Kansas City Royals at Nationals Park.

The Nationals are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Expos’ debut in 1969. The Expos moved to Washington and became the Nationals in 2005.

The uniforms are one of many ways the Nationals will celebrate their Montreal background — including some Canadian delicacies.

“The Expos will be honored at a special pregame ceremony,” the Nationals’ website said. “Lloyd Dobler Effect will play hit songs from the 1960s on the Budweiser Terrace 2:00-3:30pm, and fans can enjoy special Quebec fare, including a Montreal smoked meat sandwich at Steak of the Union in sections 117 and 133 and Steak and Sausage in section 308, poutine at Change Up Chicken in sections 110, 130 and 301, and a steamĂ© hot dog at Taste of the Majors in section 116 and 313.”
