DETROIT (AP) - Big crowds are expected in downtown Detroit and along the Detroit River for the annual Ford Fireworks show.
The show takes place over the river Monday night. It will feature more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects that are visible for miles (kilometers) in Detroit as well as Windsor, Ontario.
Zambelli Fireworks is putting together the display. This year’s show, which is expected to be viewed by hundreds of thousands of spectators, is themed “Detroit. Ready! Set! Go!!”
Officials and spectators were keeping an eye on the weather, with rain and some thunderstorms in the forecast for parts of the day on Monday.
Dearborn-based Ford Motor Co. has been the title sponsor of the fireworks show since 2013. The event is produced by The Parade Co.
