BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts State Police say they’re investigating the death of a 61-year-old man whose body was pulled from the Charles River.

Police Spokesman Dave Procopio says the body was found on Friday night and evidence connects him to a homeless shelter in Boston.

Procopio says there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body.

Police did not publicly release the man’s name.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took custody of the body. State Police continue to investigate the cause of death.

A man walking on the Longfellow Bridge, which spans the Charles River, saw the body and called police.

State Police and Boston Marine Units responded. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
