MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis Goodwill Industries has agreed to pay the federal government a $150,000 fine after the company was accused of falsifying documents about how many hours its disabled employees had worked.

According to news outlets, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Memphis says the group needed to employ disabled people for 75% of its labor hours to qualify for the AbilityOne Program. The program awards contracts to organizations in compliance. Federal officials say the actual hours disabled employees worked was much lower than what the company reported in fiscal year 2014.

A spokesperson for Memphis Goodwill Industries says the company has complied with all federal regulations since 2015.
