The Washington Wizards plan to offer Bradley Beal a $111 million contract extension in July, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday night.
Wojnarowski was speaking on ESPN’s “Mock Draft Special” ahead of Thursday’s NBA draft. Beal has been linked to the Pelicans and Celtics in recent trade rumors.
“Everybody in the league has tried to get at Bradley Beal. They are not trading him,” Wojnarowski said. “He is eligible for a three-year, $111 million extension later in July, and right now I’m told it’s the team’s intention to offer that up to him and try to keep moving forward.”

Some see Beal as a trade chip for a rebuild as the Wizards find themselves in an undesirable position this offseason, with money tied up in John Wall, who is unlikely to play until at least the middle of the 2019-20 season, and several expiring contracts.
The Wizards also could have secured a high draft pick in the NBA draft lottery, but only won the No. 9 pick despite having the sixth-worst record in the regular season.
Further, Beal could become eligible for a supermax extension if he makes the All-NBA team next season, a mark he fell shy of this year.
